Eugenia & Michael | Winter Wedding at The Pennsylvanian
Every wedding is memorable, but this one captured a place in my heart. The mother-daughter bond between Gina and Eugenia was incredibly special, and a bond I aspire to one day have with my little girl. Eugenia selected her mother as matron of honor. Her mother Gina lovingly worked with me to design a wedding with Eugenia’s tastes top of mind.
In the midst of winter, we strove to bring warmth into the vast Pennsylvanian. Guests entered the wedding via a scattered lantern walkway by EF Lighting, lighting up the architectural rotunda space. Inside they enjoyed a raw bar amongst warm sage velvet linens and a lush wall of boxwood hedges concealing the main event space. A trumpet revelry announced guests into the main ballroom, as our team slide back the boxwood hedges. The showpiece of the reception was a grand dance floor canopy by Hens and Chicks Design filled with greenery and chandeliers. The bridal party sat at mirrored tables, which reflected the warm glow of candlelight, and in beautiful velvet chairs that were acquired by the rental company just one week prior to the event. Cyndi and Tony of Araujo Photography captured it beautifully!
Small personal details were incorporated into the day- a signature Martini drink (the bride and father’s favorite), a photo gallery of the couple on boxwood, an heirloom cake topper, a borrowed veil from a family friend and a custom sketch by the bride’s friend for the invitation suite.
I’ll never forget Gina turning to me, just before being announced into the reception, saying “It’s like a dream!” I’m an easy crier. It took everything to hold back the tears of joy that I felt for this family, my bride and her mother!
